Childhood and youth
Nikolay Kirichenko was born in Minsk in 1946. His father was a military man, Ukrainian by nationality. The boy grew up in an international family, as his mother was born in Armenia.

Young Kolya himself doubted that he had chosen the right direction. He even left his second year of drama school to enter the Polytechnic Institute.
But as a result, his desire to play on stage was so great that he decided to try again. So he ended up at the Belarusian Art and Theater Institute. Studied on the course of Dmitry Orlov.
Creativecareer
The actor Nikolai Kirichenko received his graduation diploma in 1969. A couple of years after that he worked at the Brest Regional Drama Theater, and from 1971 he began to play at the National Academic Theater, which was named after Yanka Kupala. Here he worked for almost half a century. Moreover, from 2005 to 2009 he directed the theater, holding the post of director. Among his works on stage, one should note the role of Jagiello in "Prince Vitovt", Georges in "Terrible Parents", Polonius in "Hamlet", Firs in the play "The Cherry Orchard".
Since the late 1980s, Nikolai Kirichenko has been engaged in pedagogical work. He taught at the State Academy of Arts in Minsk. He had the title of professor. On the basis of the academy, he led courses for film and drama theater actors, revealing to them the secrets of his skill.
Film work
His debut on the big screen took place in 1972 in Diamara Nizhnikovskaya's musical comedy "Fakir for an hour". In it, he played the episodic role of a business traveler.
For many years he was little known for film work, mostly appearing in episodes. Recognition came to the actor only in the late 1990s, when he played Istvan Bartosz in the detective series Kamenskaya. After that, Nikolai Kirichenko's photo began to appear regularly in film magazines.
In the 2000s, he acted a lot. These were both full-length films and television series. For example, in 2001played Beria in the military drama of Mikhail Ptashuk "In August 44th …". In 2009, he played the role of Friedman in the serial historical drama by Valery Uskov and Vladimir Krasnopolsky "Wolf Messing: Seeing Through the Ages".
It is noteworthy that Kirichenko filmed a lot literally until the very last moment. In the last years of his life, the series "White Wolves" was released, where he played the chief accountant of a construction company, Nikolai Mikhailovich. In the serial film "The Alchemist. Elixir of Faust" he appears in the image of the director of the watch workshop Zakhar Semenovich, in the film "Greetings from Katyusha" he plays a general, and in "The Cliff" he plays the director of a pig farm.
He never had really big roles in films. He remained the master of the episode, which was remembered by the viewer, no matter how insignificant and small the role he was assigned.
Family
Kirichenko's personal life turned out to be eventful. He was married four times in total. In his first marriage, he had a daughter. When Nikolai married for the fourth time, at the age of 50 he became a father again. He had another girl, who was named Kira. She began to appear in films and on stage from an early age.
In August 2018, Kirichenko passed away. Officially, the cause of death has not been named. However, it is known that in recent years he was seriously ill. The actor was 72 years old.
