Cory Monteith: Childhood

The future actor was born in the Canadian city of Calgary, it happened in May 1982. Cory Monteith spent the first years of his life in British Columbia, where he lived with his mother and brother. The boy's father left the family when he was not yet two years old. The family existed on the unstable earnings of the mother, who worked as an interior designer.

From an early age, Corey was practically on his own. This manifested itself in his teenage years, when the guy got out of hand. Young Monteith first tried drugs at the age of 12. He was constantly expelled from school for defiant behavior and absenteeism, in connection with which the young man changed manyeducational institutions. As soon as he entered the ninth grade, Cory Monteith decided to say goodbye to his boring lessons.

Youth

The actor frankly admitted in an interview that there are no forbidden things that he has not met by the age of 19. The young man's family forced him to agree to a course of treatment. He spent some time in a rehabilitation clinic that accepted drug addicts. Unfortunately, Cory Monteith broke down again, barely leaving the walls of the center. Then he stole a large amount of money from his relatives, which they soon became aware of. Corey himself characterizes this act as a kind of cry for help.

For a while, Monteith still managed to say goodbye to addictions. A friend persuaded the young man to move to the Canadian town of Nanaimo. Here began the career of the future star. For several years, Corey changed an incredible number of professions - he tried on the roles of a taxi driver, roofer, driver, salesman.

Lucky occasion

It's hard to say what the fate of the star of the series "Losers" would have been if he had not happened to be in Vancouver. Corey moved to this city in search of a better job and spent some time knocking on the doorsteps of various organizations. It was then that a casting announcement caught his attention. Young actors needed for Stargate: Atlantis.
