Sarik Andreasyan is a Russian director, screenwriter and producer of Armenian origin. Director and producer of dozens of domestic and foreign films, founder of Enjoy Movies, best known for his comedy work.

Study and early career

Sarik Andreasyan was born on August 24, 1984 in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. After 3 years, the family moved to Kazakhstan, or rather to the city of Kostanay. In 2001, he began studying at the Faculty of Journalism, at the same time he began to play in KVN and received his first experience in creative activity. After moving to Moscow, he entered the "Workshop of Yuri Grymov". Graduated from the directing course and began shooting commercials and video clips.

In 2006, Sarik Andreasyan begins work on a thriller based on his own script called "45 centimeters". Work stopped several times due to lack of funding, and as a result, the picture was never finished. At the same time, the young director works on television and makes many useful contacts with famous comedians.

Director's work

Coming out in 2009the debut directorial work of Sarik Andreasyan "Mugs" was released. The comedy with famous KVN participants in the lead roles, with a budget of one million dollars, earned as many as five in cinemas, paying off several times.

Thanks to this financial success, Andreasyan receives an offer to direct a remake of the classic Soviet comedy "Office Romance". The film ended up receiving devastating reviews from critics, but on a budget of $5 million, it grossed about fifteen at the box office.

At the same time, Sarik, with his brother Ghevond and a familiar producer Georgy Malkov, founded his own production company, Enjoy Movies. The director's first work, released under the auspices of the company, is the film "Pregnant". The picture largely repeats the plot of the comedy "Juno", for which it was subjected to fierce criticism. However, the box office was again above expectations.

The most critically acclaimed works of Sarik Andreasyan are the collections of film novels "Moms" and "Happy New Year, Moms!", which he produced and wrote several short stories.

After the release of the comedies "That Carloson!" and What Men Do, the founding members of Enjoy Movies decide to form an international production company with the goal of reaching the global market. As part of this campaign, Sarik Andreasyan is directing his first English-language film - the crime thriller American Heist. Starring Academy Award winner Adrien Brody and Star Wars star HaydenChristensen. However, the film performed poorly at the box office and received devastating reviews from critics.

Sarik Andreasyan returns to Russian-language films and begins to engage in more serious cinema. Over the past few years, he has directed the fantasy thriller Mafia, the disaster film Earthquake, and Russia's first superhero film The Defenders.
